India’s one of the most ambitious high-speed rail networks could soon bring Mumbai and Hyderabad much closer. In a recent update, the proposed Mumbai–Pune–Hyderabad Bullet Train Corridor has taken a major step forward. As per official reports, the Detailed Project Report (DPR) is completed. If the plan gets a nod, the corridor could reduce travel time between the two major Indian cities around 3–3.5 hours. As of now, traditional trains take 12-15 hours between Mumbai and Hyderabad.What we know so far:DPR Completed for 671-km CorridorAs per recent reports, the DPR for the project is completed. The route which is approximately 671-km Mumbai–Pune–Hyderabad high-speed rail corridor is all finalised. Telangana Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy mentioned that officials have been asked to expedite the next stages of the project.However, the project has not yet entered the construction phase.
