NEW DELHI: An Etihad Airways flight carrying around 280 passengers to Abu Dhabi from Chennai was cancelled on Tuesday after a fire was detected on the aircraft’s left wing during take-off preparations.Airport officials said the aircraft was preparing for departure when the pilots noticed the fire and immediately halted the process.All passengers were safely disembarked from the flight and no injuries were reported, officials added.
Fire brought under control quickly
According to news agency PTI, fire service personnel rushed to the spot and quickly extinguished the blaze on the aircraft’s wing.Authorities said the incident was handled without any casualties or damage to passengers, following which the flight was cancelled.
